Chelsea are not Erling Haaland’s list of clubs he would like to join.
After reports emerged that the Blues were English favourites to land the striker, BILD revealed the case to be otherwise.
Instead, the Premier League trio of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are more likely to land him. Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also suitable destinations according to the 20-year-old forward.
Haaland just set the record for reaching 100 career goals in the shortest period in history (144 games). He has been on a tear since his Red Bull Salzburg days as his stock continues to skyrocket in the European market.
No doubt, Borussia Dortmund will be forced to sell their prized asset once suitors start coming in. Speculation is bound to be endless as the summer transfer window approaches at the back of a high-anticipated European Championship.
Chelsea’s chances could dwindle on Thomas Tuchel delivering Champions League football. Right now, the Blues are fourth with a crucial tie against Everton coming up. Tuchel has steered them in the right direction but there is no guarantee of how things might pan out.
Haaland’s current contract is said to have a release clause worth £66m which is set to be activated from June 2022. However, sources claim that he could move this summer for upwards of £100m.
