Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has expressed a strong desire to keep winger Noni Madueke at Stamford Bridge beyond the current transfer window.

Chelsea Boss Maresca Keen to Keep Madueke Amid Transfer Speculation

The 22-year-old made a significant impact in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Servette in the first leg of their Conference League play-off, scoring the decisive second goal after coming off the bench.

Madueke’s goal, a powerful finish at the near post, not only secured Chelsea’s win but also reinforced his place in Maresca’s plans.

With the uncertainty of the transfer window, Maresca made it clear that he values Madueke’s contributions and sees him as an integral part of the squad.

“I really like Noni,” Maresca said.

“The only issue is consistency in training. He’s got the talent, and he’s been doing well with us. As long as he keeps working hard every day, he’ll get his minutes on the pitch.”

The Chelsea manager, who made nine changes to his lineup following a disappointing Premier League loss to Manchester City, praised Madueke’s attitude and hinted at his future at the club.

“Until the window closes, anything can happen, but Noni is the kind of player I want in this team. We have a lot of games ahead, and I’m confident he’ll be important for us.”

Madueke’s performance contrasted with the struggles of some of his teammates, particularly Mykhailo Mudryk, who continues to search for form after a difficult 18 months since his big-money move from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Maresca acknowledged Mudryk’s challenges and emphasized the need for better decision-making in the final third.

Reflecting on the match, Maresca noted that while the team labored in the first half, they eventually found their rhythm, thanks in part to Madueke’s clinical finish.

“It’s about helping players like Mudryk and Madueke make the right decisions when it counts. If we can do that, they’ll both become even more effective.”

Maresca’s comments suggest that Madueke’s future at Chelsea is bright, provided he continues to show the same dedication and consistency that earned him praise against Servette.
