Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is wasting no time in stamping his authority at Stamford Bridge, with reports revealing that high-profile duo Mykhailo Mudryk and Christopher Nkunku could be shown the exit door this summer.

Chelsea to offload £141m duo as Enzo Maresca reshapes squad for 2025/26

After a mixed debut season in charge, Maresca is already planning for a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Italian tactician, who has kept Chelsea in the hunt for a Champions League spot and enjoyed success in the Europa Conference League, appears set to wield significant influence in the upcoming transfer window.

According to The Sun, Maresca has decided that both Mudryk and Nkunku no longer fit into his vision for the club’s future.

The pair, signed for a combined £141 million, have struggled to justify their hefty price tags and have fallen out of favour under the Chelsea boss.

Mudryk, whose £89 million move from Shakhtar Donetsk raised eyebrows in early 2023, has endured a torrid spell at Stamford Bridge.

With limited Premier League appearances and a provisional suspension due to a doping violation in December 2024, his stock has plummeted.

The 24-year-old winger is now valued at less than a third of his original fee, casting serious doubt on Chelsea’s ability to recover their investment.

Nkunku’s situation is slightly more promising, though still far from ideal. Despite scoring 14 goals this season, most of his contributions have come in lower-stakes matches in the Conference League and domestic cups.

The £52 million man has struggled to find his rhythm in the Premier League and hasn’t cemented a regular starting spot.

Both players are expected to be sold rather than loaned out, as Maresca aims to create room for new signings who can better execute his tactical blueprint.

While Chelsea may have to accept financial losses on both deals, the move signals a clear intent: under Maresca, there’s no room for sentiment—only performance.

With the summer window approaching, Chelsea fans can expect a ruthless rebuild as the club eyes a return to the Premier League elite.
