Cole Palmer has received an update from Enzo Maresca prior of Chelsea’s matchup with Liverpool. When the Blues play Arne Slot’s team at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon, they won’t have many well-known players.

The Chelsea manager acknowledged to reporters at Cobham on Friday morning that up to eight players might miss the eagerly awaited game. “Cole is still out,” stated Maresca. Trev [Chalobah] has been suspended. For tomorrow’s game, seven or eight players are out.”

Due to a groin injury, Palmer had to leave the game during the first half of the west London team’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United. In an attempt to regain his health, the 23-year-old midfielder has missed Chelsea’s last three games.

Maresca held his cards close to the vest when asked about Palmer’s recuperation. “I don’t have any update at the moment,” the Italian retorted. This week, we have a meeting.

Maresca denies Chelsea form and confirms defensive shortage

Enzo Maresca claims that despite Chelsea’s recent red card record, he does not believe they have a discipline issue. Players from the Blues were sent off in Tuesday’s games against Benfica, Brighton, and Manchester United.

Chelsea lost both games as a result of Robert Sanchez and Trevoh Chalobah’s costly red cards against United and Brighton, respectively.

Despite Joao Pedro’s late dismissal following a second yellow card, Maresca’s team defeated Benfica. However, the manager of Chelsea maintains that his team has no discipline issues.

“Each case must be examined separately. The red card for bad discipline or ill purpose is not the same as the red card I received from Brighton or United,” he remarked.

The previous season, Chelsea easily defeated Liverpool 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues suffered a 2-1 loss at Anfield. “Each game is unique,” Maresca continued.

We will make every effort to prepare the game as best we can. They have demonstrated the reason they won the Premier League, notwithstanding any points they may have lost.
