Edouard Mendy will push for a move in the summer

Chelsea are planning to offload Edouard Mendy in the summer.

The 31-year-old played a huge role in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph when he arrived in the summer of 2020.

But he has been benched for the majority of the campaign behind Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Mendy lost his spot after undergoing finger surgery and spending four months on the sidelines after the World Cup.

Both the goalkeepers have struggled to cement their status as Chelsea’s No.1 and Chelsea are open to offers for both their keepers.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is thought to be on a substantially higher wage than Mendy, so it would be easier for the Blues to offload the Senegal international in the summer.

This leaves the door wide open for Tottenham who are keen on signing Mendy as their next goalkeeper in the summer.

Namely, Inter Milan’s number one Andre Onana is Chelsea’s top target and would be prepared to offer either Mendy or Kepa in a part-exchange deal.
