Chelsea forward planning to leave Stamford Bridge this month

According to reports, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are negotiating a potential summer transfer window move for Carney Chukwuemeka. The midfielder made 17 appearances across all competitions, including four in the FIFA Club World Cup, during the second half of the previous season while on loan with the Black and Yellow, but he only made one start.

As a potential makeweight in a deal that would see Xavi Simons come to Stamford Bridge, Chukwuemeka has been strongly linked to a transfer to RB Leipzig. In recent weeks, Chelsea has been negotiating with Leipzig and Simons in an attempt to get additional players before the new season begins.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, the East German team has inquired about acquiring Tyrique George, which may have made it possible for BVB to get Chukwuemeka. Since then, Romano has said that Dortmund and Chelsea have reactivated direct talks for the 21-year-old. With negotiations ongoing between the clubs to find a solution, Chukwuemeka wants the move.

Dortmund renew talks with Chelsea to sign Carney Chukwuemeka

The club was impressed by the 21-year-old’s efforts during the second part of the previous season while he was on loan. There is obviously little to no prospect for him at Chelsea, even if he still has three years left on his West London deal.

He would be joining Dortmund, a team that has a solid reputation for nurturing and advancing young players. We have witnessed Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho succeed at BVB, even only with English players.

Chukwuemeka is accompanied by a fellow countryman in West Germany at the club by the latter’s brother, Jobe, who was stated before. It will be fascinating to watch how the two grow under Kovac. Ben Jacobs, a writer for GiveMeSport, says Dortmund is still optimistic about closing the deal.

Sebastian Kehl, the club’s sports director, stated at the Club World Cup that everyone is eager to come up with a solution that would allow Chukwuemeka to keep improving at Signal Iduna Park.

Chukwuemeka was formerly connected to RB Leipzig, but according to insiders, Chukwuemeka did not express interest in joining the Red Bulls and did not speak with them. His goal is to get back to Borussia Dortmund.
