Dortmund eye Chelsea forward Timo Werner as potential replacement for Haaland

The Bundesliga club is looking for Timo Werner who has earlier played in Germany.

Erling Haaland is supposed to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer and the German club is likely to pick Timo Werner as the potential replacement of the 21-year-old star.

Haaland has long been the subject of intense speculation regarding his future.

Borussia Dortmund have resigned themselves to losing Haaland in the summer when his contract £75m release clause was activated. Top European clubs like Man City, Real Madrid and Barcelona are fighting to get the sign of Norway international.

Dortmund now have also outlined their targets in expectation of having an available squad space.

As per Mundo Deportivo, the Bundesliga club is looking for Chelsea forward Timo Werner who has earlier played in Germany. Werner joined Premier League for a reported fee of £53m in the summer of 2020 from RB Leipzig.

Dortmund might face a financial issue in the pursuit of Werner. The wages of the 25-year-old can trouble. He is said to earn more than 15 million Euros per season with Chelsea, who were put up for sale by owner Roman Abramovich.
