Borussia Dortmund is thinking of making a £25 million offer for one of Chelsea’s players, which might give Chelsea an advantage in the summer transfer window. This summer, Gittens will leave the Bundesliga and return to England, nearly five years after leaving Manchester City, and Chelsea has been linked to a move for him.
Gittens has also been linked to Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool, so the Blues are by no means the only team interested in the winger. Dortmund is interested in a present player, so the West London team may be optimistic about their chances of acquiring him.
According to sources, Borussia Dortmund is thinking about permanently acquiring Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea in the summer. Chukwuemeka barely played for the Blues throughout the first half of the season before joining the Bundesliga team on loan in January.
Although it appears that the midfielder’s time at Stamford Bridge is over and that his contract has a £40 million release clause, it had previously been reported that Dortmund would not exercise their buy option.
Dortmund consider €30m move for Chelsea star
German newspaper Kicker, however, has revealed that Dortmund is thinking of extending his loan by exercising the €30 million purchase option. Although Chukwuemeka just made one start during the Conference League’s first half versus Astana, it is evident that he has a lot of talent.
The midfield player was described as “really unique” by Dortmund manager Nico Kovac, and he has demonstrated his evident talent while playing for Chelsea. Given that Chelsea is interested in winger Jamie Gittens, there may be a lot of business between the Blues and Dortmund this summer.
A potential trade deal is also raised by suggestions that Dortmund is interested in Sancho to replace Gittens. When it comes to trying to persuade Dortmund to sign Chukwuemeka permanently or to invite other bidders to the table, the end of the season is critical.
If Chukwuemeka performs well, the Blues will have a better chance of getting his £40 million release clause activated, which will likely help them pay for a new striker.
