Dortmund Chief Hands Chelsea Update On Haaland's Future

Erling Haaland is set to return to Borussia Dortmund soon.

That is according to the club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc.

Chelsea fans will be a bit disappointed to hear nothing new about Haaland’s move to Stamford Bridge. The striker has been linked to The Blues all summer and many sources have not ruled out a move yet.

Dortmund remain adamant that Haaland will be staying at Signal Iduna Park for the upcoming season, especially after Jadon Sancho’s move to Manchester United. BVB have set a mountainous price tag for the 20-year-old which will be halved next summer when his release clause kicks in.

Zorc told Sport1: “Erling Haaland is currently keeping fit at home in Norway. He will be back with us in Dortmund for training on Monday.”

Thomas Tuchel needs a legitimate attacking force leading his frontline every gameweek. So far, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner have not lived up to the task consistently. And Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham are both headed out of Chelsea. Haaland would be the marquee signing to completely unleash this Blues side under Tuchel.

Chelsea are also scouting for reinforcements in defence with Kurt Zouma expected to make an exit soon.
