France national team coach Didier Deschamps has sent a warning to Olivier Giroud to leave Chelsea in search of regular game time.

Deschamps has warned Giroud that if he wants to make the cut for the Euro 2020 squad, Giroud must get more game time under his belt.

‘You know, Olivier suffers his situation. Before January, nothing will move,’ Deschamps told a press conference.

‘After, it will be up to him to see. I hope he will have more playing time.

‘But we cannot take away his goals, his good performances. He scores, he makes others play well.

‘He knows he is under pressure, but he always responds.’

Giroud himself earlier had admitted his frustration to being stuck at Chelsea this season playing a bit part role. However, the French striker said that he had faced such similar situations earlier in his career as well and fought them with all his effort and sincerity.

Giroud was also keen to add although that should situations not change for him in January, he will be forced to look elsewhere for game time. He said that it is something he had done at Arsenal and would be open to doing at Chelsea as well.
