David Luiz Is Aware Of Unai Emery's History In The Europa League

David Luiz has spoken up on the prospect of facing Unai Emery’s Chelsea in the Europa League final in Baku on 29th May.

The Chelsea defender has played a vital role under Maurizio Sarri this season and recently was rewarded with a brand new contract for his exemplary display for the Blues.

Sarri was told to secure a Champions League spot for the West London giants when he took charge in the summer and the Italian has lived up to the expectations as he led Chelsea to a third placed finish in the Premier League.

Luiz said, “He is a specialist in this competition.

“They have the motivation to get into the Champions League, but we understand this is a final and a big title and we need to win it.”

“It’s a risk of course.

“We have to consider the pressure. At this moment, we risk having less motivation than our opponents.

“But probably Arsenal have more pressure on them than we do.

So there is a positive side and a negative side. We didn’t want to play this final for a Champions League place

“As I said, we wanted to get into the Champions League through the Premier League.

“Then we want to win a trophy. So this final is very important for us

“We aren’t playing for the Champions League, but we feel we deserve to win a trophy.”
