Cesar Azpilicueta has backed Chelsea to come good in the Premier League this season.
“Well the truth is that last year they opened a big gap,” the Spaniard told Sky Sports.
“They raised the level more than anybody could imagine.
“They have been working together with the group of players and the manager for a few years.
“But it’s up to us to raise our level by working hard, by having the focus and the mentality to fight for this title.
“Last season we finished third but it’s in our hands to try to reach the top.”
However, ESPN pundit Steve Nicol has said that he is worried for Chelsea.
“I’m worried for Chelsea,” Nicol said on ESPN FC.
“I’m certainly worried for Frank.
“Whoever manages Chelsea, it’s going to be tough for them.
“But Frank’s under so much pressure with it being his first job and with not being able to go and sign anybody, that’s a disaster waiting to happen.
It is all about goals.
“From the back to the middle you know exactly what you’re going to get from Chelsea.
“But where’s the goals coming from? I am absolutely genuinely worried for Frank because I just don’t see where the goals are coming from.”
