Marc Cucurella has his heart set on a summer return to Barcelona, with the Chelsea left-back making the Catalan giants his clear priority for the upcoming transfer window.

Chelsea Star Marc Cucurella ‘Prioritising’ Summer Move to Barcelona

The 27-year-old Spanish international has already informed Chelsea’s hierarchy of his intention to leave Stamford Bridge when the season ends.

While Cucurella understands he may need to exercise patience, he remains firmly focused on engineering a reunion with his former employers.

Barcelona are currently weighing up their options at left-back. Although the position does not represent an urgent priority for Deco and the club’s sporting department, they remain open to listening to offers for current incumbent Alejandro Balde.

Should Barcelona decide to offload Balde, they will quickly move to secure a replacement who fits Hansi Flick’s high-energy system.

Cucurella has emerged as a genuine candidate, and the player himself has made no secret of where he wants to play next season.

Chelsea’s board expect to demand a fee in the region of €40-50 million for their star defender.

The Blues signed Cucurella from Brighton in 2022, and he has since developed into a key figure at left-back.

For now, Cucurella’s hopes rest on Barcelona first finding a buyer for Balde. Only then would the Blaugrana accelerate their pursuit of a new left-back.

The Spanish champions admire Cucurella’s versatility and work rate, qualities that suit Flick’s demanding tactical approach.

Whether Chelsea’s valuation proves a stumbling block remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: Cucurella has made up his mind, and Barcelona sits at the top of his wishlist this summer.
