Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley feels that Callum Hudson-Odoi is the most exciting player in the Blues squad at the moment. According to him, the Englishman could go on to have a great career in the future.

Frank Lampard has fielded a bunch of youngsters in the first team this season, all of whom have repaid his trust with impressive displays. Tammy Abraham has netted an impressive 8 goals in the league, while Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori have become regulars in the midfield and the defence respectively.

Burley, however, believes that Hudson-Odoi has been the greatest revelation amongst them.

“Well Abraham has impressed me because I did not think would be able to get the return of goals early on, from a player who I think is a little bit limited,” the Scot told ESPN FC.

“He spent time on loan in the Championship at [Aston] Villa and did a decent job. So his goals return [is impressive].”

“Mount’s impressed me with his composure and his ability to look as if he’s not fazed.”

“But I think ultimately, fitness dependant, Hudson-Odoi could be the best.”

“But he needs to put a string of months together without injury because he’s coming off a bad [injury].”
