Club's Answer To Chelsea About Moussa Dembele

Chelsea have been handed a major transfer blow in Moussa Dembele chase.

Both the Blues and Manchester United were eager to add him to their attacking ranks this January.

Frank Lampard has already expressed a strong desire to make squad improvements after a horrible run of form these past two months. Chelsea have only won 4 League games out of the 10 played at home this season with both Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud tipped to leave.

That would leave just Tammy Abraham as their outright number nine. Dembele has been on a steady rise since his senior debut with Celtic. After impressing in the Scottish Premiership, he has started to make headway in the Ligue 1, scoring 10 goals in 16 appearances this season.

He could be an ideal target in this transfer market, given how Chelsea are struggling to hold a consistent run of form. However, Lyon have already released what the feel about any potential interests.

“Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Moussa Dembélé could interest other clubs during this transfer window,” the statement reads.

“OL would like to reaffirm its wish, as in the summer of 2019, to keep Moussa Dembélé. The club has full confidence in Moussa and counts in particular on him to build a successful team for the seasons to come.”
