Christian Pulisic Picks Up Another Injury

Christian Pulisic cannot seem to shake off the injury tag at Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel handed the winger a start against West Brom on Saturday.

Pulisic made an impact by opening the scoring in the first half. But the game quickly took a turn for the worse when Thiago Silva got sent off. Chelsea went into the second half trailing 2-1.

Just when Pulisic’ energy was needed, he hopped off the pitch with a hamstring issue. This was his fourth injury this season alone, making him miss 13 games. Tuchel’s comments did not make it out to be a serious concern but this has to be getting old for Pulisic.

Following the game, Tuchel confirmed the setback saying, “Christian did a sprint when he came back out for the second half and said that he felt his hamstring would not survive the game if he continued. So we had to make the decision to substitute him right away.”

The USA international heavily depends on his quick agile movements to get past opponents. A player of his calibre needs closer attention to their fitness. Constant absences with slight niggles are not good signs for such a young player.
