Timo Werner struggling for goals and is frustrating to watch.
The German forward has struggled to find his feet since his arrival from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020.
He has managed to score only 10 goals from 34 games in all competitions and has failed to live up to his £47.5 million price tag.
Former Chelsea player Joe Cole compared Werner to a teenage Walcott during his early days at Arsenal.
‘It was like a young Theo Walcott, wasn’t it?’ said Joe Cole on Werner’s performance against Atletico Madrid.
‘When you used to watch Theo play he was so exciting, so much talent, but it wasn’t until the latter stages of his career when he put it all together and started scoring more goals regularly.
‘We mustn’t – and we’re not – going to give up on Timo Werner, it’s early days and there is so much scope there because he has got some natural, raw ability.
‘But I reckon with good coaches – and he has got good coaches – he will start to kick on, but they just need to be patient with him.’
