Bayern Munich has informed Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson that they intend to sign him on a permanent deal when his season-long loan concludes, setting the stage for his definitive departure from Stamford Bridge.
Nicolas Jackson Set for Permanent Bayern Munich Move
The German giants are committed to securing the Senegalese striker, whether by activating the existing obligation clause in the loan agreement or by negotiating new terms with Chelsea.
Jackson, 24, joined Bayern on deadline day in a deal that saw him make a personal financial sacrifice to facilitate the move.
The initial loan agreement includes an obligation for Bayern to make the transfer permanent for a fee of €65 million (£56.4 million) if Jackson meets a specific appearance threshold, reported to be 40 starts for the club.
Despite the potential challenge of meeting the start requirement, Bayern’s intention to secure Jackson permanently appears firm.
Reports indicate the club plans to renegotiate a permanent deal with Chelsea even if the appearance clause is not triggered.
Jackson netted his first goal for his new club in a 5-1 Champions League victory over Cypriot side Pafos.
So far this season, he has made several appearances for Bayern, including his first start in a 4-1 win over Hoffenheim.
Jackson’s move to Germany came after he fell down the attacking hierarchy at Chelsea.
The Blues signed strikers Liam Delap and João Pedro in the transfer market, making Jackson surplus to requirements. His departure is part of a significant squad overhaul under owner Todd Boehly.
During his two seasons with Chelsea, Jackson scored 30 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions.
His final months at the club were marked by two red cards in the latter part of the previous season, but he also played a key role in Chelsea’s 2025 UEFA Conference League victory, scoring in the final.
With Bayern Munich’s clear intent and Jackson already opening his goal account, the path seems set for the striker to complete a permanent switch away from Chelsea next summer.
