Christopher Nkunku is reportedly eager to join Bayern Munich this summer, with a deal still possible before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku Keen on Bayern Move as Deadline Day Looms

The Chelsea attacker has emerged as a key target for the German giants as they seek to replace Kingsley Coman, who is set to join Al Nassr in a €30 million move.
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Nkunku is keen on the switch, and Bayern’s interest remains alive despite their pursuit of other targets like VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade.
The two clubs had a verbal agreement in January, but a transfer collapsed due to Chelsea’s €70 million valuation. Now, the Blues have lowered their asking price to €40-50 million, making a deal more feasible.
Nkunku’s versatility—capable of playing as a No. 9, No. 10, or winger—appeals to Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl. However, Chelsea prefer a permanent sale, while Bayern have considered a loan.
With RB Leipzig also linked to a potential part-exchange deal involving Xavi Simons, Chelsea may need to offload Nkunku quickly to fund their own transfer plans.
The 27-year-old has struggled for consistency at Stamford Bridge, managing just nine starts last season. With Chelsea signing Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, Nkunku’s role could shrink further, increasing the likelihood of his exit.
As the August deadline approaches, Bayern must decide whether to formalize their interest.
For Chelsea, waiting risks losing leverage in negotiations, especially with other suitors potentially circling.
For now, Nkunku’s future hangs in the balance, but the player’s desire for a fresh start in Munich could be the catalyst for a late-window move.
