New Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has told Tammy Abraham that he will receive first team chances this season.

Tammy Abraham had a brilliant 18/19 season when Chelsea loaned him off to Aston Villa. The 21-year old striker netted 26 goals all season as Aston Villa secured promotion to the Premier League.

Abraham was the joint second highest scorer in the Championship alongside Brentford’s Neal Maupay. His performances earned the 21-year old a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

Following the conclusion of his loan spell at Aston Villa, Abraham is back at Chelsea and has started in their pre-season match against St.Patrick’s Athletic.

According to the Daily Mail, Lampard has assured Abraham that he will receive first team opportunities in the upcoming season.

Lampard who took over the Chelsea managerial job less than three weeks back, is eager to give Chelsea’s youngsters ample chances and given how good Abraham was for Aston Villa last season, he deserves to get some chances.

Right now, Chelsea’s strikers are Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi. Giroud wasn’t very good in the Premier League hence, Lamard can rely on the likes of Batshuayi and Abraham if the Blues are to bridge the gap between themselves and Liverpool and Manchester City.
