Michael Golding of Chelsea is about to sign a contract with Leicester City. The East Midlands club is interested in obtaining Golding in a separate transaction and has agreed to sell Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea.
In contrast to Omari Hutchinson’s impending transfer to Ipswich Town, a possible deal would not include a sell-on clause or matching rights for Chelsea on any future transfer involving the adolescent midfielder. During the FA Cup third-round victory over Preston North End the previous season, the 19-year-old made his first-team debut under former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Brighton & Hove Albion were previously interested in Golding, who is thought to be one of Chelsea’s finest prospects, but their interest has since waned. As Chelsea’s under-18 team advanced to the FA Youth Cup final eight, he made four appearances and scored one goal.
