Following an exceptional season with the English club, Tyrique George, a Ghanaian forward who was born in England, won the Men’s Academy Player of the Year award at Chelsea.Â
The 19-year-old is having a fantastic season with the Blues and is contributing to Chelsea’s pursuit of UEFA Champions League qualification. He is also capable of playing senior Nigerian football.
George has already made twenty-two appearances for Chelsea’s senior team, playing in all eleven of this season’s UEFA Europa Conference League matches.
In the quarterfinal match against Legia Warsaw in the European competition, the explosive winger scored his first senior goal for the team. He then scored his first Premier League goal in the team’s comeback victory over Fulham.
