Chelsea midfielder Tino Anjorin is in negotiations with Empoli to become a permanent member of the Serie A team. After joining Stamford Bridge’s under-7 team, Anjorin advanced through the youth divisions and made five appearances for the senior team.
The highly-regarded 22-year-old has spent the last three years on loan with Lokomotiv Moscow (which featured a buy option), Huddersfield Town, and Portsmouth; but injury concerns have severely limited his playing time. Tino Anjorin reportedly gave his verbal consent to move to Empoli, according to Fabrizio Romano. The English youth international may be able to assist the Serie A team, who are seeking greater inventiveness in the latter third of the field.
“Deal has been verbally agreed” Romano confirms Chelsea have a deal agreed for midfielder
“Tino Anjorin is the next player to leave Chelsea as a verbal agreement has been reached with Serie A side Empoli,” Romano announced on X. Permanent relocation with all matters resolved before Tino takes a plane for his medical examination, as stated by Sky Sport. Anjorin joined Chelsea’s development center program at the age of seven and signed an official contract with the team at the under-nine level. Anjorin has remained with Chelsea since then.
But judging by his amazing stats, the young attacking midfielder clearly possesses talent. Through 123 appearances at all levels of competition, he has already scored 41 goals and assisted 19 others. While Anjorin’s lengthy relationship with Chelsea’s academy comes to an end with this transfer, the player also gets a fresh start and the opportunity to play regularly for the first team.
