Chelsea winger Pedro has said that he has no plans on leaving Chelsea and wants to fight for his place in the squad.

The Spaniard joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2015 on a transfer fee of £19 million. He has since made183 appearances for the Blues, netting 41 goals and providing 25 assists.

This season, Pedro scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. He played a key role in Chelsea’s run to the Europa League, scoring 5 and assisting three in 14 appearances. One of his goals came in the final against Arsenal at Baku which Chelsea won 4-1. Pedro’s Europa League performances earned him a place in the tournament’s Team of the Season.

With Eden Hazard leaving for Real Madrid, Pedro has to fight for the winger position alongside Willian, Callum Hudson-Odoi and new signing Christian Pulisic.

Despite the competition being fierce, the 31-year old has no intentions of leaving the club. Pedro said, “I’ve got one year left on my contract at Chelsea. And I hope I can stay there as long as possible. There’s the possibility of playing in the Champions League once again.”

While Pedro has no desire of leaving Chelsea at present, he does want to play for his hometown club CD Tenerife who are in the second tier in Spain. Despite being born in Tenerife, Pedro never played in the local club during his youth career or senior career so far. The Spaniard said, “I’ve always said I wanted to play at CD Tenerife at least for one year. It would make my family and I really happy. But I still have a year left at Chelsea.”
