Chelsea are gunning for Erling Haaland’s signature this summer.
According to sources, the Blues are among a host of clubs who want to sign the mercurial talent.
What gives Chelsea the upper hand is their ability to swap out Timo Werner in a potential deal with Borussia Dortmund. Werner has scored just twice for Chelsea since Novemeber. The German has not adapted well to life in England and could be sacrificed to bring in a better forward.
Haaland is no doubt one of the best strikers in the world. His ridiculous scoring rate is comparable to no one as his stock rises continuously. Dortmund do have a release clause of €60m for the Norwegian but it is set to become active much later. Chelsea will have to pay a premium sum if they want to get their hands on Haaland this very summer.
Unfortunately for the Blues, they will also need to deal with Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola. The notorious character is reputed for brokering deals for his players with ridiculous demands put in place. Due to his success rate, clubs are forced to meet them as well.
Chelsea will probably have a more difficult time handling Raiola than Dortmund.
