Arsenal are now desperate to sign Jorginho before the transfer deadline.
Arsenal’s hope of signing Houssem Aouar shattered after he was named in their squad for Sunday’s match against Marseille.
According to reports, the Gunners have fallen short of Lyon’s asking price and the deal has been closed now.
Jorginho helped the Blues in securing their second win of the Premier League season by netting two penalties to complete a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Now manager Mikel Arteta has turned his head towards other midfielders with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho emerging as a top target.
“We need to make some decisions in the next three days. Everything has been delayed so much, not only for us but every team,” Arteta said in an interview prior to their match against Sheffield United.
“We will try to make the best possible decisions and at the end, whatever we have, we go for it fully convinced and prepared to have a good season.”
