UEFA Champions League is back! The 2019-20 campaign kicks off today and we can’t wait. There are several good matches lined up for the opening day.

Chelsea will host Valencia at Stamford Bridge in Group H fixture. It will be an interesting battle because both teams haven’t really settled this season. Valencia have won just once in four matches while Chelsea have won twice in five league matches this season.
Chelsea have an upper hand as Valencia have never defeated them in a competitive match-up.

Here are the last five meetings (competitive) between the clubs:

1. Valencia 1:2 Chelsea (10th April 2007)
Venue:  Estadio Mestalla, Valencia
Competition: UEFA Champions League Quarter-final 2nd leg

However, just after the half time(52’),  Andriy Shevchenko scored for Chelsea to equalize. The tie looked to be heading into extra time but midfielder Michael Essien scored in the 90th minute to take them to the semi-finals.
