Nainggolan reveals the reason he rejected Chelsea

Nainggolan is very happy at Roma

Radja Nainggolan has been performing for Serie A club Roma at a very high level constantly for the past few years and has been linked to numerous top clubs particularly Chelsea.

He has been extensively linked with the Blues for the past few seasons and was on the verge of joining them two years ago but a deal never materialized. Chelsea are still interested in signing him this summer.

The Belgian has been linked with a move to rivals Inter Milan too but the midfielder has stated that he is happy at Roma and does not want to leave the club this summer. He also revealed the reason he turned down Chelsea two years ago.

“Inter? There was interest from them because the coach rates me and vice versa, even if you wrote 1,000 stories about it… but let’s forget it,” Nainggolan told Il Tempo.

“I’ve always had a good relationship with Spalletti, he put me in the best condition to express myself, but ultimately there was no chance that I’d leave Roma.

“The truth is that in the past, I rejected important offers. Two years ago I could’ve gone to Chelsea and earn more, but for me there is not only the economic aspect ”

Nainggolan has made 24 appearances in Serie A this season, with Roma third in the table, four points ahead of fourth-placed Inter Milan.

Batshuayi slams UEFA after racism charge dropped

0

UEFA has dropped a racism charge against Atalanta, leading to a furious response from Borussia Dortmund striker Michy Batshuayi.

Michy Batshuayi has criticised UEFA after European football’s governing body dropped racism charges against Atalanta.

The Borussia Dortmund striker, on loan at the club from Chelsea, accused Atalanta fans of racially abusing him during last month’s Europa League tie.

Michy had earlier tweeted: “2018 and still racists monkey noises in the stands…really?! Hope you have fun watching the rest of the Europa League on TV while we are through. #SayNoToRacism #GoWatchBlackPanther”.

UEFA subsequently opened disciplinary proceedings against Atalanta, but they confirmed on Thursday no punishment will be levied against the Serie A side.

Batshuayi reacted angrily following news of UEFA dropping the charges emerging.

“LOL. Must be my imagination,” the striker wrote on Twitter.

“It’s just monkey noise who cares? 2018 guys…”

After Dortmund were knocked out of the Europa League by RB Salzburg this month, Batshuayi shared examples of racist abuse he received on Instagram.

“The problem is real,” Batshuayi wrote in a reply on Twitter after highlighting that some users sent him banana and monkey emojis.

“I always enjoy having fun and making fun, even of me, but not with these people.”

Chelsea to return with bid for Koulibaly

Chelsea failed to sign Koulibaly last summer

Chelsea wants to reinforce their defensive unit this summer and are in the market to sign new centre-back. With David Luiz set to leave this summer and Gary Cahill entering his final years, the blues have turned their attention towards Napoli’s centre-back  Kalidou Koulibaly.

Chelsea wanted to sign Koulibaly last summer but a deal never went through. Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as quoted by Football.London, is claiming that the Blues are set to return for a bid to try and sign the Senegal international this summer as long as Antonio Conte remains in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea bid  €58 million for the Senegal star last summer but it was not enough with reports claiming that they are set to return with a fresh improved bid. The defender is believed to have a release clause in his contract of €70 million (£60 million), which Napoli will reportedly demand in full.

Koulibaly have also attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal in recent months.

Koulibaly has been in good form for Napoli this season, scoring four goals and making one assist in 28 Serie A games for the Italian side.

The 27 year old joined Napoli from K.R.C. Genk for £6.5 million, signing 5 year contract in 2014.

Antonio Conte gives ultimatum to Morata

Conte wants Morata to up his game

Alvaro Morata moved to Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer£60 million . He started off brilliantly for the blues with scoring goals and assisting in big matches like against Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

But since the boxing day he has just scored 1 goal. The forward has been booked 5 times during that drought and sent off once, as frustration evidently got to the ex-Real Madrid star. The back injury and arrival of Oliver Giroud from Arsenal in the January transfer window also didn’t help his situation.

With such poor form, Morata was recently dropped from the Spain National squad during the international break. Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa now leading the line for the team.

Chelsea Coach Antonio Conte has challenged the Spanish Forward to get back to his best before the season ends so he could have the chance to be selected for the Spain squad according to Daily Express:

“This period was very important for Alvaro,” Conte said.

“He has worked very well and he needed to work hard.

“He was out for one month and a half with his back problem.

“Now he is really fit, 100 per cent and ready to have a final end to the season for Chelsea and then for him to have a chance for the World Cup.”

Chelsea dealt blow in hope of landing Romagnoli

Chelsea dealt blow in hope of landing Romagnoli

Romagnoli has been a long term interest for Chelsea

Chelsea are in the market for a new centre-back as they want to add quality reinforcements in the summer. With David Luiz fallen out of favor and Gary Cahill entering in his final years, the Blues are looking for a long term solution. They have identified AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli.

The Italian defender has been linked with a move to Chelsea for over a year now and he is on their radar again for this summer. Antonio Conte is a big admirer of him and is top on his shortlist.

But Chelsea could suffer a set back as AC Milan does not want to part ways with the 23 year old. He has become a key part of their defense and Milan’s Sporting Director Massimiliano Mirabelli, revealed that they are determined to keep hold of him.

“We want Alessio Romagnoli to remain for a long time and we are already talking to his agent,” Mirabelli told TMW .

“We trust all our players can accompany us for a long while yet.”

This could be a huge blow for Chelsea as they are planning a defensive overhaul this summer. In January they were linked with Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, a player Conte has worked before, but a move never materialized.

Romagnoli joined AC Milan from AS Roma for a fee of €25 million, signing a 5 year contract in 2015.

Frank Lampard Reveals His Ambition To Manage Chelsea After Retirement

Frank Lampard Reveals His Ambition To Manage Chelsea After Retirement

Frank Lampard, the former English professional footballer and midfielder at New York City FC has revealed part of his retirement plan as a way of showing loyalty to his former side, Chelsea. He said that as soon as he retires from football, he would like to venture his football skills in managing a successful football club. Additionally, he specifically admitted that going back to Stamford Bridge would be one of the most memorable moments in his career, which could increase his next Chelsea FC manager odds.

The 38-year-old Englishman has already started to think about his life after several years of active participation in playing football. On the other hand, he has only scored 12 goals in 17 appearance in Major League Soccer appearances this season for his club, New York City FC. Even though Lampard concluded his stay in the English Premier League at Chelsea’s archrivals Manchester City, it is clear that his bond with the Blues is stronger compared to any other club. When he joined City on loan, Chelsea fans regularly chanted his name during their head-to-head matches. They also sung his name in the 2015-16 season, when he returned to the training center at Cobham to improve his fitness and wellbeing after a series of injuries in the United States side.

In August 2014, Frank Lampard decided to surrender his active role in international football one and a half decades in which he earned 106 caps. He might have the vision to warm up for Antonio Conte’s job at Chelsea by then because the former England international expressed that a managerial role at Stamford Bridge would be the ultimate goal of his career.

Even with the high ambitions of venturing into management, Lampard humbly acknowledges that he has to learn gradually about his projected career in the dugout before plunging himself in it. He said that, in the course of his career, he has had conflicting thoughts about taking up the managerial role on different periods.

Speaking to Sly Sports, he said his yearning to manage a football club has now resurface and he will ensure it comes to fruition after retiring from playing football. However, Lampard says the only challenge is insufficient time to get his badges. Even with such sentiments, the New York City midfielder seems to have already locked his focus on managing Chelsea in the near future as soon as he finishes his football career in the field.

Lampard echoed his thoughts saying he remains a die-hard supporter of the Blues, and however hard it appears to have the Chelsea job, the club will be his target as one of the pinnacles of football in the world now. My dream to manage Chelsea remains alive for now even though it might be a different direction for my career, which might take some period to achieve, he said. He added that if he was qualified for the job now and they call for his services, he would not hesitate to return to his former club for the top job.

During his 13-year tenure at Stamford Bridge, Frank Lampard made 648 appearances in all competitions, in which he scored 211 goals and played an active role to secure 11 major trophies. In May 2013, he set a new all-time goal-scoring record after toppling Bobby Tambling’s personal best.

Man United’s Ander Herrera Advices His Teammates to Stop Fascinating About Premier League Standings

Man United’s Ander Herrera Advices His Teammates to Stop Fascinating About Premier League Standings

Ander Herrera, the Spanish professional footballer has advised his Manchester United colleagues to humble themselves and stop worrying about the status of the current Premier League standings. As the Red Devils get ready for some difficult games, the midfielder told his teammates to focus on those fixtures even though the one-all draw to Stoke City at Old Trafford made them lose crucial points to risk their chance of closing in on their title rivals. Manchester city was thrashed 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. Online soccer betting fans also reaped big with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool winning their games last weekend.

The only advantage the Red Devils can count on is that Spurs helped them cut City’s lead over them at the summit of the table to five points. However, Herrera believe that the road ahead is still rocky as the EPL takes shape because they have other non-league games to play. Furthermore, United will be playing Liverpool and Chelsea in their next fixtures and the midfielder believes getting preoccupied about the table would make his teammates lose focus.

Herrera compared their current situation to the 2011/12 EPL season when United was eight pints ahead of City with six games to play, but the title slipped through their fingers. He concluded that anything could happen in the Premier League. He added that they felt unhappy to draw with the struggling side, Stoke, because they were at home and they even had the lead until they lost it in the dying minutes of the game.

Jose Mourinho’s men will be facing a tough EPL schedule, as they play Liverpool at Anfield in two weeks’ time and facing his former side, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first time since he was sacked last season. United has dropped eight points from a possible dozen in the EPL, which exerts more pressure to bag maximum points in their next fixtures. However, Herrera remains confident that they will gather more points soon if they continue to play as they did against Stoke City.

Herrera added that they lost three matches in a row after the last international break and they will have to prove to their fans and critics that they can overcome such a bad spell by coming back very strong. After playing Liverpool, United also has a Europa League fixture with Fenerbahce, which, according to Herrera, is a very important game too. To face the other teams with confidence, Herrera says they have to win over Fenerbahce.

The Spanish international could not believe that they did not win against Stoke even though all statistics favored them. United took control of the game, created eleven chances, tried to play deep and sometimes wide, but luck was not on their side. His only hope is that the win 6-nil next time they play like that. In their 4-1 win over Leicester, they played well, but their game against stoke was very much better. They scored four goals out of the five chances created against Leicester, but they were unable to convert the eleven chances against Stoke. In summary, Herrera said that, “This is football” and they can only revive their spirits in subsequent games.
