Do you know why Petr Cech is wearing a helmet on his head (headgear)? Here is the Petr Cech accident and injury video and the reason why Petr Cech wears headgear as protection for his head.

Here you can read all about the reason why Petr Cech wears a helmet on his head. Lets find out out why Petr Cech wears headgear and how the accident and the injury happened.

Petr Cech is considered to be one of the best Chelsea goalkeepers ever, but is no longer one of Chelsea FC goalkeepers.

Petr Cech video accident and injury

An injury that almost killed him in 2006 against Reading. I remember watching this and feeling sickened at how bad it was. Stephen Hunt from Reading, accidentally (well I hope), ran into Cech as he was collected the ball.

But Hunt’s knee caught Cech right in the head at full pace. Cech instantly collapsed and it was obvious he had suffered a serious head injury. Here we have the Petr Cech video accident.

Do you know why Petr Cech wearing a helmet on his head?

This is why Petr Cech wear headgear!

Petr Cech had a serious head fracture and had to have brain surgery to save his life. If the doctors hadn’t acted fast by giving the goalkeeper oxygen right after the incident, he possibly would have died.

Cech was rushed to the hospital immediately after the accident. Carlo Cudicini came on to replace him, and in an ironic twist, he too suffered a head injury and was substituted. This meant John Terry had to don the gloves in goal! Terry actually made a couple of good saves too!

Petr Cech speaks about head injury and why he wears headgear!

Petr Cech spoke about the incident to SkySports after his life threatening injury.
Cech said: “Things could have been different.

“The doctors tried not to scare me too much and I never asked too much.

“But if you ask my wife, even now, she does not look too well. For her, the experience was a thousand times worse than it was for me.

“It was a very close call.”

“I lost consciousness, then I came round again. Some people, they did not like me too much because I was confused and sometimes when you’re confused you try to fight!”

Cech also attributed his life to the doctors and the nearby facilities as the reason he survived.

“The decisions of Bryan and the medical staff and the proximity of Oxford – that’s the combination that gave me a chance.

“I had a depressed skull fracture. A few pieces of bone went in quite deep, that was the biggest danger.

“The more they go in, the left side of the brain (where Cech was injured) is quite an important centre of movement. Anything could happen.”

Cech described intense headaches waking him up at night after the accident.

He told Chelsea TV: “Sometimes it is difficult because you wake up and you have a horrible headache so you have to take your medication.

“I just try to live with that and every day it is going to get better.”

Return to football

Cech said he couldn’t remember anything for three days after the injury. Doctors had to insert metal plates in his head after the surgery. But remarkably, Cech returned to playing football just three months after the injury.

Most people can’t even go back to their normal careers after a serious head injury so it’s miraculous that he was able to play again.

Cech said: “I have to say a lot of people did not want me to return a quickly as I did. It was my decision and my will to come back to what I was used to doing and what I love.

“Once the surgeon said the skull is strong enough with the helmet on, I decided to return to training with the team.

“Two days later, we traveled to Liverpool – which I did not tell my wife at the start, I told her I’m just travelling with the team.”
“But the manager said to me, ‘You want to go to watch or you want to play? You tell me.’

“I said, ‘OK, we’re already here. Let’s try’.”

Head injuries in football

Of course, that is why Cech wears a helmet now. Because if a person who’s had a head injury already, gets another one it’s mores serious. Plus they are more susceptible to get another one. And the following head injuries can be even worse.

Well now you know why Cech wears a helmet!

There are now tighter rules around head injuries now in football. At every Premier League game now there are ambulances because of the injury to Cech. Regulations are also now in place that all teams must have doctors and paramedics on standby in the dugout.

Cech said: “As human beings, we always need something to happen to improve.

“Now the ambulance is always ready, the paramedics are always ready, people in the crowd can get help without risk.

“If you look at the Fabrice Muamba case, this is what helped save his life – the paramedics are there.

“If they have to come from the hospital, even one that’s close, he would not be here.”

Cech is now playing for Arsenal but he will always be a legend at Stamford Bridge. To this day, he still wears the protective helmet.

He has decided to retire at the end of this season, calling an end to a long and illustrious career.

Chelsea Loanee Is Determined To Make His Mark Next Season

Chelsea Loanee Is Determined To Make His Mark Next Season

Tammy Abraham is ready to make his full fledged start at Chelsea next season as the Aston Villa striker is determined to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.

The 21 year old has lit up the Championship with his goal scoring antics as he has so far netted 21 goals for the Midland giants. Neither Antonio Conte nor Maurizio Sarri has preferred to include him in their plans but the Chelsea loanee has shown time and time again he is here to stay.

The arrival of Gonzalo Higuain has had very little impact as the Argentine international has done very little to fill in the shoes of the misfiring Alvaro Morata who eventually left for Atletico Madrid.

With the current transfer ban, the Blues are barred from registering any new players and this could be a boon in disguise for the forward. Abraham said, “That’s the aim going into next season.

“As a young kid, I’ve always believed I will play for Chelsea. I always believe that.

“I think I have the ability to. I just have to, when I get the opportunity, grab it with two hands.”

Chelsea Forward Could Leave The Club In Summer

Chelsea Forward Could Leave The Club In Summer

Olivier Giroud is ready to leave Chelsea if his playing time doesn’t improve in the near future.

The French forward has had to settle for some handful of game time since the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain at the Stamford Bridge. The former Arsenal striker netted a brilliant hat-trick in the 5-0 rout of Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League but things remain same.

The 32 year old arrived when Antonio Conte was at the charge of the Blues. Despite being linked with a host of French clubs in the summer the World Cup winner stayed back and decided to fight for his place.

But Maurizio Sarri has been pretty strict when it comes to selecting his starting lineup in the top flight and as a result, Giroud’s last start came way back in December against Crystal Palace.

The French striker insists he could consider his future if the current situation doesn’t change. “Of course it’s frustrating.

Today, I have the impression there is clearly no competition [for places in attack] since January.

“It’s like that, I know that I will only play in the Europa League. I try to do what it takes to be as effective and as important as I can for the team.”

“The future may be hectic this summer

“I’m not afraid to go down a level to have more playing time. It could be I end my career in France.”

Pulisic cannot replace Hazard: Melchiot

Christian Pulisic Excited To be Able To Join Chelsea

Melchiot has warned Chelsea not to expect Christian Pulisic to replace the void of Eden Hazard next season.

“I think if you put that pressure on Pulisic it would set him up for failure,” Melchiot told Express Sport. “I don’t think that you should look at it like that. I don’t think Chelsea have bought Pulisic to be the star man straight away.”

“He’s definitely one of the most talented players in America. But when you look at Dortmund, [Jadon] Sancho is their star man right now. Sancho is the one making all the headlines, because he’s doing so well, also because he is dictating a lot.”

“When he gets on the ball everybody gets excited because of the pace he has, the skill, everything. Pulisic was exactly what he was but now it’s really hard for him to get in the team.”

“Now you want to tell me he’s going to be the star man and taking the place of Eden Hazard? That is a big, big ask you’re asking the guy.”

“I think that’s too much weight that we’re putting on him, I think it would not also be fair for him to arrive at Stamford Bridge already with that pressure on his shoulders. I don’t think we should look at him like that.”

According to reports from le10sport, Juventus and Real Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea star N’Golo Kante. Kante has been an integral figure for Chelsea since joining the club from Leicester City in 2016. In his very first season for the club, Kante won the Premier League Player of the Season award.

So far, Kante has made 132 appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals and providing as many assists.

This season, the French midfielder has been a regular under Maurizio Sarri. So far, he has made 43 appearances for the club, scoring 4 goals and providing as many assists.

Kante has played in a more attacking role under Sarri this season as opposed to his typical defensive midfielder role which Jorginho has taken now.

Last summer, PSG were interested in signing Kante but the 27-year old preferred to stay at Chelsea. A few months back, Kante signed a new 5-year contract with Chelsea.

Cesar Azpilicueta believes Chelsea can finish in top four this season.

“We missed a chance to get points and every time you don’t get the three points you put yourself in a more difficult position. There is still a lot of games to play and we are going to fight because we cannot miss Champions League qualification.”

“If we had won the [last] two games we would be third going into the international break and we could have said we were already in the Champions League. Obviously with five more points we could have been much better.”

“I don’t see just the Europa League as the only way of being in the Champions League, because Chelsea’s place is not to be sixth in the Premier League so I cannot accept this.”

“There is a way of going into the Champions League, it is a trophy, and we will play until the end but we are not in a position in the league where you can say we are not going to reach the Champions League spots.”

The Blues have a handful of games left this season and have to win all of them to have a realistic chance.

Eden Hazard Focused On Chelsea Despite Real Madrid Interest

Eden Hazard insists he is not thinking about moving to Real Madrid rather he wants to help Chelsea lifting the Europa League title.

Hazard remains Madrid’s number one target as Los Blancos are planning a summer overhaul. Zinedine Zidane is expected to be given a hefty transfer kitty of £300m and the Belgian forward tops his list.

Despite all the speculations Hazard’s form has been unmoved by the growing speculation. The 28 year old has netted 13 goals so far alongside 11 assists in this ongoing campaign and his form is going to be very crucial if Chelsea are to secure a top four spot.

The Blues reportedly rejected Madrid’s approach recently and the club is adamant to keep hold of him amidst of the transfer ban hovering on them.

Hazard said, “I’m not working on that right now.

“I want to shine with Chelsea for a few months and try to win the Europa League. This week I think about the Red Devils [Belgium] and then back to Chelsea. Then we’ll see.”

“We can win the Europa League – we must win the Europa League, or finish in the top four to play in the Champions League next year.”

Roman Abramovich Accepts Fate Of Losing Eden Hazard To Real Madrid

Roman Abramovich Accepts Fate Of Losing Eden Hazard To Real Madrid

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich has accepted the fate of potentially losing Eden Hazard in the upcoming transfer window.

The Belgian winger was subject of an initial bid from Real Madrid on Monday which the Blues turned down. However Spanish news publication, AS believes the Galacticos will be back with a more convincing offer.

The report claims that Chelsea will surely put up a stiff fight in hopes of keeping the 28-year-old but they might not be able to hold out for long. Abramovich is aware of the financial capabilities of the reigning Champions League winners and the sheer influence they have on star players.

Hazard has already decided on what he plans on doing after the 2018/19 season as revealed by him earlier. He is nearing the final 12 months of his contract with Chelsea which would force the South West London side to entertain future offers.

Thibaut Courtois was the last Chelsea player to make the switch to the Spanish capital and his compatriot is expected to follow.

Abramovich and the rest of the Chelsea management team have made provisions for the Belgian’s departure by signing Christian Pulisic in January. The United States international is expected to make his way over to the Santiago Bernabeu in July after finalising a £58m transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

Well the simple answer is, no. Lionel Messi is by far the better player overall. The little Argentinian has scored more goals, made more assists and won more titles than Eden Hazard. But the Belgian wins the Hazard vs Messi dribbling battle.

Although you can’t deny that the two players are very similar in terms of dribbling technique. In-fact, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez spoke to Goal back in 2017 about the Hazard vs Messi dribbling argument.

Former Liverpool star feels Sarri will be sacked

0

Former Liverpool star Emile Heskey is of the opinion that Maurizio Sarri will not be Chelsea’s manager next season. Chelsea’s defeat to Everton last weekend sees them remain 6th in the league table.

Chelsea still have a fair chance of winning the Europa League this season. They take on Slavia Prague in the quarter-finals and can face either of Benfica or Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi-finals.

However, Heskey feels that Chelsea will sack Sarri even if he wins the Europa League this season. The former England international said, “I’d be very surprised if he’s there next season. It’s been a difficult season for him.

You’ve got talisman like Hazard, a couple of seasons ago we were touting him as the best in the Premier League, probably the best in Europe. You need players like that stepping up to the plate. I think he still could go [even if Chelsea win the Europa League].

I think they’re probably looking at the future now and thinking they’re quite far behind a lot of the teams that they are hoping to be in the mix with in the top four and winning the league.”

Chelsea’s Premier League campaign resumes on the 31st when they take on Cardiff City.
