The deal is done!

Timo Werner has officially joined the Blues. The German forward’s release clause of £53m has been officially triggered and personal details with the player had already been agreed. The Blues have finally announced their new signing:

Werner was chased by multiple clubs across Europe like Manchester United and Liverpool and Bayern Munich but it was Frank Lampard’s men who ultimately have managed to secure the signature.

Werner is reportedly set to join Chelsea by July on a five-year contract that will see him earn £10 million per year excluding bonuses.

Chelsea had already signed Hakim Ziyech earlier and now the addition of Werner would mean that the Blues have real firepower in their frontline.

Lampard will be happy with the signature as Werner would slot in nicely to the young players’ age bracket. Moreover, his versatility would mean that the former RB Leipzig man can play as an out and out striker or as a wing forward depending on the situation.

Chelsea seems determined in this season’s transfer window and has been further linked with Andre Onana, the goalkeeper of Ajax and Ben Chilwell, the Leicester City left-back.

LEGEND: John Terry’s incredible Chelsea story!

LEGEND: John Terry's incredible Chelsea story!

Captain. Leader. Legend.

That is how we have come to see him and know him. A man committed to the Blues forever. However, it could all have been so wrong at the youth level, when JT had the chance to choose clubs likes Manchester United and Arsenal over an under-achieving and mediocre Chelsea team.

What did he do? The story is one for the fables.

“I had the option between Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United and to be fair all of them went above and beyond,” he told the Footballer’s Guide to Football podcast. “The moment I walked into Chelsea, it just felt right. I know that’s going to sound really bizarre.

“Again, my dad never wanted me to sign for Chelsea. Actually, on the pitch of me signing my schoolboy form at the club, my dad refused to go on the pitch with me.

“I’m in the tunnel, the players are coming off the pitch and I’m waiting in the tunnel, Glenn Hoddle goes past and my dad’s going, ‘You’re not signing for this football club, we should sign for Manchester United’.

“Again, me being me at the time I’m going, ‘I’m 100 per cent I’m signing here, if you don’t come out with me I’m going out to sign’. You needed a parent, so my mum said she would come and sign it with me, my dad’s going mad at my mum, ‘No you wont’.

“There’s a picture of my mum and Graham Rix signing my contract, but my dad refused and absolutely kicked off that night. Again, me being the character I was, I knew Chelsea was right for me.

“One night that was probably supposed to be one of the best nights of my life turned out to be a tough one for a young 14-year-old to be honest.

“I just knew and loved Chelsea from the moment I walked in and never looked back, I still love the club and look out for every result now.”

Why Sancho at Chelsea would be the ideal deal!

Why Sancho at Chelsea would be the ideal deal!

Football pundit Paul Merson believes Chelsea would be an ideal match for Jadon Sancho at this stage of his career.

Sancho is on the radar of every big club in Europe right now but Merson thinks it is Chelsea who would want to make the biggest impression in the transfer market this summer.

The Blues have already snapped up Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and now will be looking at either Sancho or Havertz.

“I don’t think Chelsea’s spending will stop (with Ziyech and Werner),” Merson said.

“They obviously still want Jadon Sancho, and if they can’t get him they will probably try for Kai Havertz.

“Either one of them is going to cost close to £100m. But that kind of transfer pays for itself. Chelsea could get five good years out of Sancho and still get a big sell-on.

“You’ve got every chance of getting your money back with a player like Sancho. And if Abramovich starts coming to matches again, he will want to be entertained. He won’t care about paying £100m for a Sancho if it helps them play good football.

“Signing Werner is a big statement. But signing Sancho would be an even bigger one.”

Chelsea given boost in Havertz chase

Chelsea have been handed a major boost in their chase for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

The German attacking midfielder is being touted by no less than four giant clubs in Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

The latest reports are now stating that Bayern Munich are however out of the running. The Bavarians who recently won the title in Germany are now taking their foot of the race as they are interested in securing the services of Leroy Sane.

Sane is currently contracted to Manchester City which expires in 2021 and Bayern believes they can negotiate a much lesser fee to bring in the winger due to his contract situation.

As for Real Madrid, Havertz is keen on a move to the Spanish capital but Real need to reinforce other areas like their striker’s slot and after spending a fortune last summer, they might not be able to spend so much this summer.

Manchester United are keen on Sancho and hence they are less interested to splash the cash on Havertz. This leaves Chelsea as the only suitable club for the talented playmaker and a deal could very soon be on the way.

Jamie Redknapp Tells Chelsea To Be Nervous About Man United In PL Restart

Jamie Redknapp Chelsea To Be Nervous About Man United In PL Restart

Ahead of the Premier League restart, Jamie Redknapp has told teams like Chelsea to look out for a power-packed Manchester United.

During the 3-month unprecedented coronavirus break, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has been training furiously – either at home or the last few weeks on the field – and it will surely pay off in the Premier League restart.

“There are important players coming back,” Redknapp told The Sky Sports Football Podcast.

“If you look at Manchester United right now, they’ve got a young man in Marcus Rashford who is now fit for his team. That’s going to be amazing to have him back for United. It’s like a brand new signing – one of the best centre forwards in the world or wide players, wherever you want to play him. So I think United will look at that and think ‘we’ve got a real chance’.

“It will be interesting to see the dynamic in midfield, too, with Paul Pogba coming back as well. There’s so much talent in that area now and if you can get that midfield working together then you’ve got a really big chance.

“Teams will be nervous about United. The likes of Chelsea that are already in the top four will be looking over their shoulder.”

Former Chelsea Striker Crespo Inspired By Mourinho To Coach In England

Former Chelsea Striker Crespo Inspired By Mourinho To Coach In England

Chelsea former striker Hernan Crespo has been feeling inspired by former Blues boss Jose Mourinho – enough to make him want to coach in England.

Like Mourinho, he wants to make his way as a “top manager” in the Premier League or Championship. Currently, Crespo is the head coach Defensa y Justicia back in Argentina but wishes to give England a chance.

“Jose showed me the way to be a top manager, it’s not only about picking the first XI,” Crespo said.

“It’s understanding everything, 360 degrees, in terms of communication with journalists, governance, the players, the coaches. You are in the middle of all these groups.”

“The Premier League is better than before, it grows and grows,” Crespo said. “Why not in the future? I want to come back to work there, I would like to be part of the Championship or Premier League as a coach.”

Crespo also wants to become the head coach of Argentina National Team someday, as he had stated earlier this month.

“I dream about being the coach of the Argentina national team and to achieve something I couldn’t do as a player: to be a World Cup champion,” he had said.

Timo Werner’s Chelsea Move Put In Jeopardy Over Leipzig Dispute

Timo Werner's Chelsea Move Put In Jeopardy Over Leipzig Dispute

Chelsea fans will be wise to know that RB Leipzig is yet to put pen to paper on Timo Werner’s sale.

While the common relative is that a deal has been agreed in principle, nothing is final until there is official news and possibly even then (Papa Gueye’s transfer saga with Watford).

Werner is in good personal terms with the Blues but there is doubt from his current employers. Julian Nagelsmann has projected some doubt regarding his future and the striker being part of Leipzig’s Champions League campaign this season. Nagelsmann said, “He is currently, as usual, in my plans to play the Champions League. He is our player and has not signed for anyone else. His importance to RB Leipzig is extraordinary.”

Champions League fixtures are expected to resume in August and Werner is hesitant to play those fixtures. It is confusing why the German forward would object to playing the remainder of the season with Leipzig. FIFA has already given clubs permission to retain their player’s services until all games are concluded for the 2019/20 campaign.

However, it seems that the 24-year-old wants to force through his Chelsea switch as soon as possible. He possibly might not want to risk any injury as Leipzig keep their hopes of Champions League glory alive. They have already lost out on the Bundesliga title to Bayern Munich and are out of the domestic cup. It is still difficult to see Werner’s objection to this matter.

Could this jeapardize his dream move to Stamford Bridge? Hopefully, not.

Chelsea Recognize Pau Lopez As Their Ideal Replacement For Kepa

Chelsea Recognize Pau Lopez As Their Ideal Replacement For Kepa

News coming out of Spain state that Chelsea are looking into Pau Lopez to replace Kepa Arrizibalaga from the 2020/21 season.

Frank Lampard has pretty openly indicated his dissatisfaction with the Blues record signing by benching him for three consecutive Premier League games this season, prior to the coronavirus lockdown.

Reports have constantly linked Chelsea with various options to replace Kepa, one of the recent ones being AS Roma’s number one custodian. Lopez enjoyed a stellar spell with Real Betis which earned him the move to Stadio Olimpico. He had big shoes to fill after Alisson departed for Liverpool and seemingly, he did.

Lopez’s 9 cleansheets in 34 games this season along with 43 conceded goals in the Serie A does not do justice to his performances. At 25, he has shown the ability to man a team’s goal-line with tenacity, grace and consistency. That is why teams like West Ham and Tottenham are also interested in him and his value has rocketed to £36 million in just a year’s time.

Of course, bringing in a goalkeeper will be difficult in the current scenario. Football clubs are greatly affected by the global pandemic and are unwilling to spend large sums of cash on players. That would mean selling Kepa would be a much larger issue than effectively replacing him.

BREAKING: Chelsea preparing a bid for Cristiano Ronaldo!

BREAKING: Chelsea preparing a bid for Cristiano Ronaldo!
Bildbyran

When Chelsea made rapid moves in the transfer market, everybody was taken by surprise.

However, their intention to make a mark has now been taken to the next level. According to the latest reports, the Blues are reportedly preparing an offer for football icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

There is little introduction needed to CR7 and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will boost any team he joins. Even though he is 35 years old, he still has plenty of football left in him owing to his high fitness levels.

The player has formerly played in Manchester United of course and joining Chelsea now will be a big blow for the Red Devils. Reports state that the key to signing CR7 will be negotiating with his agent Jorge Mendes who has a good relationship with the club.

The agent has reportedly told the Blues to go ahead and bid around €120 million for the Juventus forward. Although Ronaldo’s current valuation in the market stands at €40 million, he still has a lot of commercial value and Juventus are committed to keeping him as he is contracted to the Old Lady till 2022.

The Italian side paid €100 million for him when they signed him from Real Madrid back in 2018 and Chelsea’s bid of €120 million might just be enough.

As for the Blues, it will be a scary frontline with Werner, Ronaldo, and Ziyech lining up at the Bridge next season if the CR7 deal goes through.

Exciting times to be a Chelsea fan!

Cesc Fabregas Sympathises With Arteta’s Situation Over Lampard

Cesc Fabregas Sympathises With Arteta's Situation Over Lampard
Bildbyran

Chelsea legend Cesc Fabregas has compared both Chelsea and Arsenal managers – and feels that Mikel Arteta has it much harder than Frank Lampard.

Fabregas has been with both Chelsea and Arsenal in the past, and even captained the Gunners team in the 2008-09 campaign. He feels that due to Arsenal struggling in the ninth position and Chelsea in the fourth, Arteta has a tougher job of bringing the team up to the top 5 at least, whereas Lampard had to make sure to maintain’s Chelsea’s consistency.

“Chelsea took a gamble with Frank because it was only his second year as a main coach and he’s done very well,” Fabregas told the Guardian

“With Mikel it’s a little bit of the same. He’s been with Pep [Guardiola] for three years, and I’m sure he’s like a master for any young coach that wants to start being a manager.

“I think he’s done well [so far] and I’m sure he’s brought back some values to the club that was needed.

“Obviously it’s a much harder job than Chelsea in terms of rebuilding the squad, and they are very young, and they had problems because [Arteta] started much further down the line than Chelsea, but I’m positive that they will pick up very soon and that next season could be the one for them.”
