Chelsea opt-out of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele race

Chelsea opt-out of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele race

Xavi has left the door open for Dembele to sign a new deal.

Chelsea have reportedly pulled out from the race to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.

Chelsea were one of several sides linked with a January swoop for the Frenchman. Dembele’s contract at Camp Nou now has less than six months left to run.

The window shut with Dembele still on the books at Barcelona, but

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been tipped to try again in the upcoming summer in order to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund protege.

According to AS, Chelsea have now pulled out of the race to sign the Barca man due to the uncertainty over their summer situation ahead of Roman Abramovich’s imminent departure.

The report also adds that Juventus and PSG also have no interest in signing the 24-year-old as a free agent this summer, which could give Manchester United a free run at the attacker.

Xavi has left the door open for Dembele to sign a new deal. The France international managed one goal and provided three assists in his last two La Liga appearances.

Tuchel admits he’s yet to hear from Abramovich about his plans to sell the club

Tuchel admits he's yet to hear from Abramovich about his plans to sell the club

Tuchel has not spoken to Abramovich since his decision.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says he’s yet to hear from owner Roman Abramovich about his plans to sell the club.

The Russian owner recently announced he was selling Chelsea and soon, we will see a new owner at Stamford Bridge. Roman Abramovich remained the owner for 19 years and the club achieved big glories.

Abramovich wants around £3.5 billion for the club. Recently, American tycoon Todd Boehly put his name ahead in the race.

Tuchel has not spoken to Abramovich since his decision. The Chelsea’s head said, “I was not in direct contact with the owner, which is not a surprising thing because we have not had so much contact directly.

“My contact is always Petr Cech and Marina Granovskaia, on a very regular basis, which is until now always excellent.

“Chelsea was always a Roman Abramovich club in my point of view, and was run by a compassionate and committed owner.

“This is so new, and such a big change of course, that I’m not even sure how I feel about it. I’m very happy to come here to work, because on a daily basis, once we are in the building there is not a big change.

“The owner was not here for lunch and not here for meetings, not here for training – so this does actually at the moment look very normal. It gives everybody a good feeling.”

Tuchel also added, “We have installed a culture at the club.

“We are trying to live this culture on a daily basis, so we have all the tools we need to navigate through a storm. I could feel it coming.

“You try and install principles. You need to be clear – and when the storm’s coming you need to function on the basis that you can rely on each other. The foundation is the club culture – it was always football first. This is what we do right now.”

“The owner is selling a well structured, top organisation. I don’t see why we should be in fear. This club is so well placed, so well organised, so functional, it’s a pleasure to work here. It’s the highest level that I have experienced, Tuchel added.

“Yes, we will have a new owner – but does that mean the organisation is in question, or the structure? I don’t think it is a given.

“Maybe it is. If it is we need to talk again – but to think about it now makes no sense.”

American billionaire Todd Boehly put together a consortium to buy Chelsea

Todd Boehly had previously registered an interest in buying the club back in 2019.

American billionaire Todd Boehly has put together a consortium that is leading the race to buy Chelsea from owner Roman Abramovich. Amid the Ukraine-Russia war, Roman Abramovich decided to sell Chelsea FC.

The club was officially put up for sale by the Russian owner on Tuesday, with the billionaire potentially set to face sanctions from the UK Government following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Abramovich is valuing the club at around £3bn. Some big potential bidders have been linked with a takeover of the Premier League giants.

According to ESPN, Boehly and his consortium are the latest to register a bid. The current Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers part-owner is said to be leading the race.

The American had previously registered an interest in buying the club back in 2019 for around £2.2bn. Boehly’s net worth is reportedly around £4.7bn. He is looking at the possibility of returning with a similar offer.

Current Chelsea owner Abramovich has owned the club since 2003. The deadline for the final bid is March 15.

Chelsea have finalised the move for 15-year-old Championship prodigy Leo Cardoso

Chelsea have finalised the permanent acquisition of West Brom youngster Leo Cardoso ahead of the summer transfer season. He is the most recent Baggies academy product to create a name for himself.

Cardoso is widely considered as one of the top prospects in the U-16 age group, making the Blues’ signing a possible bargain. His immense talent has already allowed him to play for the England and Portugal young national teams.

The 15-year-old thrived as a number 10 and on both sides of the wing, receiving praise for his strong displays. He was photographed carrying the Chelsea shirt with club stalwarts John Terry and Petr Cech.

Chelsea’s youth academy has grown to be one of the best in the country in recent years. Players that came through the system, such as Reece James and Mason Mount, have gone on to build a name for themselves at the senior level with the Blues.

Furthermore, next-generation players like as Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja have shone during their loan periods and might build a claim for a spot in Chelse’s senior squad ahead of the 2022-23 season. Similarly, Cardoso has the potential to be a future superstar, but he would require regular attention at this stage in his career.

Sean Dyche believes Chelsea won’t be any less of an opponent following club sale.

Roman Abramovich confirmed his intention to sell Chelsea after the club’s 3-2 win over Luton Town on Wednesday.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche claims that the ownership saga will not be on the player’s minds and won’t really matter to them.

He said: “I doubt it. They’ve still got some top players.

“I didn’t think they overly struggled at Luton, I thought Luton gave a very good performance and Chelsea, as they do, found big moments because they have big players.

“I think anything that does affect them, if it does affect them, is helpful. But I don’t really see that they’ve suddenly become a bad team or anything. They’ve got some fine players, that’s for sure, so I’m thinking they’re still going to be a solid outfit as a minimum.

“Even in what people have described as an indifferent run, they’ve only lost one in 10 (league games). I think that’s a fair reflection on the fact they’re still a powerful side.”

Chelsea vs Burnley Predicted line up

Chelsea take on Burnley in the Premier League clash on Saturday noon. The Blues take on Burnley in the next match. Chelsea have a brilliant attacking team this season.

The Blues have been hit hard since November as they dropped regularly. They moved to third in just two months and now, they are out of the title race. They reached into the final of the Carabao Cup but suffered a defeat in the penalty shootout.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel not worried about ownership situation

Tuchel spoke on the matter after their FA Cup win against Luton.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is not worried about the ownership situation surrounding the club.

The Premier League giants are in the midst of an owner change, with Roman Abramovich set to divest his assets.

Abramovich has released a statement that he will sell the club in the coming days, while he will not be asking for more than a billion in loans that the club technically owes him.

A statement read: “I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC.

“As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the club’s best interest at heart. In the current situation, I have therefore taken the decision to sell the club, as I believe this is in the best interest of the club, the fans, the employees, as well as the club’s sponsors and partners.

Tuchel spoke on the matter after their FA Cup win against Luton on Wednesday: “I’m not so much worried as I still feel privileged and in a good place. I hope and trust for the best.

“I’m so much a person who worries about things I can’t influence. It’s big news and will be big change, but I am also never afraid of change and I’ll focus on what I can influence.

“This is the staff and team at Cobham.”
