Chelsea should make a move for Wesley Fofana according to Glen Johnson.

The Blues are currently in the market for a new centre-back as Rudiger’s future at this club remains uncertain.

The German defender has been linked with both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid who’s out of contract this summer.

Fofana who moved to Leicester last season has been performing at a high level in the Premier League.

Club legend Glen Johnson believes Fofana could be a direct replacement for Rudiger.

“I do rate Fofana, big time,” Johnson told BettingOdds.com

“He’s a young lad with a lot to learn but I think he looks great. He’s super athletic and intelligent on the ball so, for me, I’m a massive fan.

“If he becomes available then I doubt Chelsea will be the only team interested in him.”

Brendan Rodgers has dismissed the possibility of the defender leaving the King Power Stadium anytime soon.

“Wesley has made great strides,” Rodgers said last month.

“Every player will want to be at the highest level, but it doesn’t mean they’re thinking about leaving here to do that.

“We’ve won silverware and want to see if we can win more. Wesley is committed here and we can’t wait to have him back.”
