Chelsea would accept a loan fee for Ben Chilwell this summer window.

Chelsea are currently busy in the summer transfer market and they are also offloading key players so they can get some funds. The Blues manager Enzo Maresca has publicly acknowledged that Ben Chilwell is not included in his plans.

Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are focused on the summer window. Now, 43 players are left in the current senior Chelsea squad.

Earlier, a report claimed that Chilwell was at risk of not being selected in Chelsea’s squad. He was not part of the pre-season tour in US. He was an unused substitute for four of Chelsea’s six pre-season friendlies.

Chelsea will meet Manchester City in the season opener at Stamford Bridge. Ahead of the game, Maresca has admitted that he currently has no plans to provide game time for Chilwell.

As per BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Maresca said: “This morning we had 22 players training and if you ask all of them they want to play against City on Sunday but that is impossible.

“When you train every day and not get any minutes it is not good for them or for me and I need to make a decision.

“Probably it is better to leave and go and get minutes. The transfer window is open so we will see what will happen.”

Chelsea defender has made just 106 appearances across four seasons. His contract will end in next three years. The Blues would accept a loan fee for the 27-year-old.
