Chelsea have added the Ukraine international to Frank Lampard’s list of potential summer transfer targets.
Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi has already attracted interest from Premier League side Chelsea, claim reports in Ukraine.
The 26-year-old had an impressive last season with Belgian club Genk, amassing 16 goals and as many assists in 51 appearances across all competitions. He joined Atalanta this summer for a transfer fee reported to be €13.7 million.
The Ukrainian international, who helped his country secure qualification for Euro 2020 by scoring three goals and providing four assists so far, has been in fine form for the past few months and given his current form, Europe’s top clubs are bound to show interest in signing him. According to Ukrainian media outlet Sportarena, Chelsea are monitoring the 26-year-old midfielder.
His performances for the Italian Champions League side have been earning him rave reviews and he has impressed Blues legend Claude Makelele. Makelele has been scouting for his former team-mate and he gave Malinovskyi a glowing report after watching him in international action last week.
Now the club will make further checks over the next few months and could make a move when their current two-window transfer ban ends in the summer. The Serie A side are in no hurry to cash in on Malinovskyi as he is under contract with the club until 2024.
