Leandro Trossard was left out of the match-day squad in the victory over Liverpool.
Pete O’Rourke has told GIVEMESPORT, the Blues could make a “late swoop” for Brighton star Leandro Trossard if Premier League rivals Tottenham make a move.
Chelsea have been decent in this winter window as they hijacked the deal of Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk. They beat their arch-rivals Arsenal.
The West London club have continued to spend big this month at Stamford Bridge. They have brought players like Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix, Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana.
The Blues have also been linked with a move for Brighton’s Trossard, who has been outstanding for the Seagulls. Chelsea have to face the task with Tottenham and Arsenal according to The Daily Mail.
The Belgium international was left out of the match-day squad in the victory over Liverpool. The same guy scored a hat trick when he met Liverpool at Anfield in 2022.
After that hat trick in Roberto de Zerbi’s first Premier League game in charge of the club, the Brighton boss said: “Trossard is a star, a very good player. When he was away with the national team, I sent him a message that he has to increase the number of goals.
“He had a great game. He scored two fantastic goals, the first two. But I believe he can do even better. When I say that, it’s nor because I am not happy with him today. But it’s because I consider him a great, great player.”
Having stolen Mudryk from right under the nose of Arsenal, O’Rourke has suggested Chelsea could look to do similar with a move for Trossard.
He said: “I think if Tottenham do agree a fee or a deal with Brighton for Trossard, I wouldn’t rule Chelsea out from making a late swoop as well.”
