Chelsea new manager will sign a five-year deal until 2029 with the option of an additional 12 months.
Chelsea will announce their new manager ahead of the season 2023-24 and they are planning to unveil the new manager on Monday. The Blues recently confirmed the departure of Mauricio Pochettino after the end of the season.
Chelsea had a tough season but they played better in the second half of the season. The Blues qualified for the Europa Conference League and after missing the previous season from Europe, they will be back next season.
Chelsea also plays the EFL Cup final in 2023-24 where they lost to Liverpool. They were the semifinalist of the FA Cup. The trophy was missing from this season but they impressed in the overall season.
Chelsea now fixed their eyes on Leicester City’s promotion-winning manager Enzo Maresca. As per reports, they have completed the agreement.
As per the reports of the Athletic, the former Man City assistant has now signed a contract with Chelsea contract. He will sign a five-year deal until 2029 with the option of an additional 12 months, which the club can decide to trigger.
Chelsea and Leicester also shook hands on a £10m compensation package on Sunday. According to reports, the Blues may announce Maresca as their new head coach on Monday.
The Leicester City manager will be bringing six of his trusted staff members with him to Stamford Bridge, including former goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who was part of the Chelsea squad from 2017 to 2021.
