Chelsea has recently shown interest in Jonathan David. After an outstanding season for Lille in the French top tier, the 24-year-old striker has found himself extensively linked to a move to Stamford Bridge. With just one summer left on his contract, Lille president Olivier Letang allowed the Canadian attacker to pursue a transfer this summer. The Blues and the player’s camp began negotiations last week.

Football.london is aware that the striker is eager to leave his current club. Prior to that, David had an outstanding record in France and Belgium, making him a target for Chelsea and Arsenal for a number of seasons. Over the past five seasons, he has scored 13 to 24 goals, solidifying his status as one of the most reliable goal scorers in the league.

Jonathan David gives green light to play in the premier league

David stated in a December speech, “Every time I attend a match in England, everything is full. It gives you even more motivation as a player. Though I’m not sure, I believe it’s highly likely. There’s nowhere else that I think I can find myself than in the Premier League. The Premier League could be a possibility. It’s a really pleasant vibe.

The Athletic claims that Chelsea already has good ties with Lille because Eden Hazard moved to Stamford Bridge in 2012. David’s contract expires in 2025, and it’s anticipated that the two teams will quickly agree on a price for the striker.
