Dmebele has been a long-time target for the Blues.

And he could move to the Premier LEague, but perhaps not to London.

Manchester United’s transfer ambitions still have to remain big in order for the club to make a steady impact and return to the glory days of the past. The Red Devils intend to sign a striker in the summer transfer window and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele dreams of heading to Old Trafford, Kaveh Solhekol reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims.

Solhekol told Sky Sports: “Manchester United will sign a striker in the summer and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele wants to move to Old Trafford. Dembele will be allowed to leave Lyon at the end of the season and he wants to return to England where he started his career at Fulham. They also wanted to keep him because they are still in the Champions League and face Juventus next Wednesday.

“Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas will let Dembele leave in the summer but he will have to settle for less than his €100m asking price. Chelsea tried to sign Dembele last month and were willing to pay up to £40m and he has also been watched by Manchester City, Newcastle and West Ham.”

On the one hand, Uniteed secured a player of Bruno Fernandes’ caliber and skillset, indicating that they are still well capable of attracting top names, albeit on the back of a financial crutch. On the other hand, the seemingly rushed loan of Odion Ighalo is an apt indicator that the Red Devils seem to lack direction in their larger goals, which sets a deeply worrying trend for the future.
