Chelsea Target Has Already Completed Medical And Agreed £19m Fee With Everton

For a week now, it was established that Chelsea had won the race for LOSC Lille defender, Gabriel Magalhaes only to shock fans now.

The latest reports claim that Gabriel has already completed a medical for the Toffees even though a deal has not been finalized.

That is a serious threat to Chelsea’s ambitions of signing the Brazilian defender. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it has already become difficult to conduct any sort of business with other clubs. Clubs make sure to check a player’s medical history before spending millions of pounds on them.

The report claims that Lille already has a £19m fee-agreement with Everton but they are hoping to sell him for more. Now, this is where the Blues chime in with their superior financial power, all thanks to Roman Abramovich. Gabriel’s agent is definitely considering a switch to Stamford Bridge due to the possibility of Champions League football and about £1.7m in higher wages.

Gabriel has certainly attracted a lot of hype this year after putting up solid displays for the Ligue 1 outfit. Arsenal, Everton and even Napoli are chasing his signature quite ambitiously. Good news is Chelsea are the only ones who can offer him the most money right now. He could become their second signing under Frank Lampard, after Hakim Ziyech.
