Moises Caicedo has been linked with Chelsea for quite a while now.

The 21-year-old has expressed his desire to leave Brighton amid Arsenal and Chelsea links.

The Seagulls reportedly ignored a £60m fee from Arsenal this Friday for the young midfielder.

Chelsea have also been interested in the midfielder in recent weeks and manager Graham Potter is keen to reunite with his former player at Stamford Bridge.

His contract with Brighton expires in the summer of 2025 and the club apparently demands in excess of £60m for the midfielder for which they paid £4.5m two seasons back.

The Ecuadorian has scored two goals and made three assists in 31 appearances for the Seagulls this season.

“I am grateful to Mr. Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart,” Caicedo wrote.

“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful.

“The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
