Kalidou Koulibaly expected to make a solid partnership with Thiago Silva.
The Blues’ new signing will start his first Premier League game against Everton over this weekend.
Koulibaly is expected to slot in the back three right from the start of the season with Thiago Silva by his side.
Tuchel definitely wants one more defender this summer window although he was some young talent up his sleeve.
Chelsea veteran Thiago Silva talks about his partnership with Kalidou Koulibaly.
“It was good,” Silva said about their partnership during the win over Udinese.
“He is a player with a lot of experience. He played in Italian football, which for me is the best defensive schooling you can possibly receive.
“He is ready for our ideas. He played 70 minutes [against Udinese], and on Saturday, he will be ready to play 90.”
“Normally we speak in French because Edou [Mendy] does too, and [Cesar] Azpi — it worked well,” Silva added.
“The communication is not a problem, we can speak many different languages together.”
