Kalidou Koulibaly is not willing to leave Chelsea in the summer.

The 32-year-old defender was sidelined for the last few weeks of the 2022/23 campaign, nursing a hamstring injury.

After just one season, Chelsea wants to offload the former Napoli defender who has struggled in English football.

He was earmarked as a perfect replacement for Antonio Rudiger who left for Real Madrid last summer.

A lot of senior players at Stamford Bridge are keen to move on, but selling Koulibaly would be an arduous task.

The Senegal defender earns around £200,000 per week and is reluctant to leave the West London club after just one season.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino is yet to make a decision on which defenders he intends to keep before the start of the new campaign.

‘It is true it was difficult season,’ Koulibaly said when asked about his future. ‘For me it was a very hard welcome because to come to the Premier League and have a season like this was not what I was thinking about, but football is like this, life is like this.

‘I hope next year we are going to see a better version of Chelsea and a better version of me to help the team and to win something next year.’
