Chelsea are actively exploring loan options for Mykhailo Mudryk as the Ukrainian winger looks to regain full match sharpness following a 20-month absence from competitive football.
Chelsea open door for Mudryk loan departure before 1 September deadline
The 25-year-old has not featured in a competitive fixture since November 2024, having served a four-year suspension after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium.
However, the winger successfully reached an agreement to resolve his doping case and has since returned to action, making substitute appearances during Chelsea’s pre-season tour of Asia against Juventus, AC Milan and Johor Darul Ta’zim.
Following discussions at the conclusion of the tour, Mudryk has agreed to depart on loan before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
The decision comes as the former Shakhtar Donetsk star seeks regular playing time to rebuild his fitness levels after his lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Strasbourg, who share the same BlueCo ownership structure as Chelsea, have emerged as a potential destination.
However, sources indicate that Mudryk would prefer to remain in England and secure a move to another Premier League club where he can prove his worth at the highest level.
Football Insider reports Several Italian giants have also registered their interest in the speedy attacker, with a number of leading Serie A sides monitoring his situation closely.
The competition for his signature suggests that Chelsea will have multiple options to consider as they work to finalise a suitable temporary arrangement for the player.
Mudryk remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2031, having arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for an initial fee of £61 million.
