Chelsea star Cesc Fagregas wanted by 2 La Liga clubs

The midfielder has been inconsistent this season

Cesc Fabregas joined Chelsea from Barcelona on a five-year contract for a fee in the region of €33 million in 2014. He has been their mainstay in the midfield over the past past four seasons at the club.

The Spain International was pivotal in both the Blue’s Premier League victory in 2014-2015 season and 2016-2017 season. His vision and passing ranges were one of the important factors upon which the Premier League giants game play was based on.

But the 31 year old has struggled for form this season. Despite making impressive 49 appearances for the club in all competitions this season, he struggled to be a regular starter under Antonio Conte.

Former Arsenal star just scored 3 goals with 2 of them coming in the Premier League and assisted 5, which is quite less compared to his past seasons. He even missed out a place in the Spain World Cup squad after an underwhelming campaign.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a summer move and there have been speculations that he would like to return to Spain.

La Liga duo Valencia and Villarreal are ready to compete with each other to secure the signature of Fabregas according to Spanish publication El Gol Digital as quoted by Daily Star

Valencia finished 4th in the league and secured the Champions League spot for next season. They want to bolster their squad this summer and believes Champions League football could tempt the midfielder to join them.

Villarreal finished 5th in the league and couldn’t guarantee Champions League football but they believe they can offer him more game time as they are preparing a mass clear out in order to raise funds.

Though former Barcelona star claimed that he is happy in England.

“I’m happy here and I want to stay in Chelsea next season,” said Fabregas.

“I feel good in London, my family too, so I do not see why I’m leaving Chelsea.”

The Premier League giants finished 5th in the league and will miss the Champions League next season. Though they ended the season on a positive note, winning the FA Cup final against Manchester United.
