Azpilicueta has slammed the referee after the Nations League defeat
Chelsea ace Cesar Azpilicueta feels referee Anthony Taylor should have checked Kylian Mbappe’s goal. PSG star scored a winner for France in the Nations League final.
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta and defender Marcos Alonso were part of the Spanish side who took part in the UEFA Nations League final against France. Kylian Mbappe was the star for France on the night.
Questions have been raised on PSG star’s winner. There was a hint of offside in the buildup that was eventually awarded in favour of France. Spanish side didn’t take it kindly.
According to Sky Sports, Azpilicueta has slammed the referee for not taking a second look himself. The referee didn’t even monitor himself.
“I don’t know why the Referee doesn’t got to the monitor and make the decision. The monitor is there to use it,” Chelsea star said.
He also added, “The Referee is there to makes the decisions. I am disappointed that Mr Anthony Taylor isn’t the one who makes the decision, it is VAR that makes the decision. We were the better team the score says different.”
