According to reports in Spain, Chelsea will demand £36 million for left-back Marcos Alonso.
Alonso joined Chelsea from Fiorentina in 2016 on a transfer fee of £24 million. Alonso has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the world through his performances for Chelsea.
The Spaniard has so far amassed 18 goals and 14 assists in 120 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea. Last season, Alonso scored 4 goals and registered 7 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Alonso’s performances for Chelsea have attracted attention from Atletico Madrid, rivals of his boyhood club Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid are eager to sign a quality left-back after Lucas Hernandez left for Bayern Munich this summer. Atleti have Filipe Luis who is still a fine left-back but he is approaching his mid-30s.
Several reports claim that Alonso is open to a return to Spain but Chelsea may not be too willing to let go of Alonso as Emerson is linked to Juventus and they can’t sign any player due to their transfer ban.
