Chelsea have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior after a disastrous run of five straight Premier League defeats in which the team failed to score a single goal.
Five Defeats, Zero Goals: Chelsea Fire Head Coach Liam Rosenior
The Blues slumped to a humiliating 3-0 loss at Brighton’s Amex Stadium on Tuesday, a performance widely labelled as their worst of the season. The result sealed Rosenior’s fate just months after his appointment.

Rosenior joined Chelsea on a six-and-a-half-year deal in January following successful spells at Hull and Strasbourg.
He enjoyed a promising start at Stamford Bridge, but the team’s form has since collapsed.
Chelsea now sit well adrift of the Champions League places, with qualification looking all but impossible.
The club acted quickly to end Rosenior’s reign. In a brief statement, Chelsea thanked the 41-year-old for his professionalism and integrity but admitted recent results and performances had fallen “below the necessary standards”.
“This has not been a decision the club has taken lightly,” the statement read.
“Everyone at Chelsea FC wishes Liam every success in the future.”
Chelsea have appointed Calum McFarlane as interim head coach until the end of the season.
McFarlane will take charge immediately, starting with Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United. The club’s existing backroom staff will support him.
Chelsea said they will now conduct a period of self-reflection before making a long-term appointment, with the aim of bringing stability to the head coach position.
For now, McFarlane faces the immediate challenge of lifting a shattered squad.
European qualification remains a slim possibility, and the FA Cup offers Chelsea’s only remaining chance of silverware this season.
Rosenior leaves after just four months in the role, becoming the latest manager to fall victim to Chelsea’s relentless demands for immediate results.
