Chelsea has released their official 24/25 squad photo despite rumours that they may have as many as 40 players. The Blues have added a number of players this summer, including Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Mike Penders, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Jadon Sancho. This has been another busy transfer window for the team.
Because of their purchasing spree, Chelsea was rumoured to have up to 40 players in their roster throughout the summer. But on Friday, Chelsea’s official squad photo for the 24/25 season was unveiled, dispelling those rumours. The Blues roster consists of 29 players in all, as the image illustrates.
Chelsea releases their official squad photo for the season
The former Leicester manager was certain that his squad was no bigger than anyone else’s, despite being embroiled in a never-ending battle with the media following the release of images of what appeared to be a packed gym at Cobham in the summer. The Blues are just as bloated as every other Premier League squad, as he can now be shown with visual proof.
Chelsea raised a large portion of its summer player expenditures ($292.8 million) from sales, spending about £220 million on players. Over £150 million ($199.6 million) was raised by the Blues from the 11 departures. The attention of Chelsea fans has shifted from their transfer plan to their on-field antics, as the summer transfer window is closed until January. Even if Maresca’s start has been uneven thus far, he will be looking to win on Saturday against West Ham.
