Chelsea Receive €4m Offer For Olivier Giroud But Holding Out For €10m

According to the latest reports, Olivier Giroud has agreed personal terms with Inter Milan.

Chelsea are open to selling the Frenchman whose contract is due to end in June 2020.

Inter have offered €4m for Giroud but the Blues are holding out for a fee closer to €10m. Antonio Conte is desperate to bolster his attacking ranks after losing Alexis Sanchez to a long-term injury. He has previously managed Giroud when he was still in charge of Chelsea.

However, striking a deal will be difficult if Chelsea remain adamant on their valuation. The problem is hardly anyone would pay over the top for Giroud in the first place. The striker has a vast amount of top-flight experience but he is also 33 years old. Chelsea do not have a lot of bargaining chips either since his contract is set to run out in a few months.

Inter is a prime destination for Giroud at this point of his career. He is simply warming the benches at West London but could enjoy some playing time under his former boss. Conte, however, is also looking at the profile of Fernando Llorente. He is ready to swap out the Spaniard with Matteo Politano.
