Kante’s current contract is set to run until June 2023. He was the subject heavy speculation last summer when foreign outfits chimed in with lucrative deals for him. Kante’s future was brought into question but luckily for Chelsea, he decided to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Just last season, he helped The Blues to their second Champions League triumph, putting in Man of the Match displays across both legs of the semi-final and in the final against Manchester City.
Kante suffered a fair share of injury troubles over the past few seasons but he seems to be finally back to his best. Losing him would hugely detrimental to Chelsea‘s aspirations under Thomas Tuchel. Even with the player hitting 30 this year, it would be beneficial to protect his value against from outside interest.
